Mike Matei Xadara

Michael "Mike" Matei is an executive producer for Cinemassacre Productions. The story centers around the alleged burial of over 1 million copies of the proclaimed "worst video game of all time", E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial for the Atari 2600, as The Nerd embarks on a quest to prove that there is nothing buried there after being pressured by fans to review the video game, while being pursued by federal authorities who believe he is investigating Area 51 and the crash of an unidentified flying object.

In a survey published by Mediscape, a number of people admitted to being inspired by the Nerd to create and submit their own content in various online spaces, including YouTube, DeviantArt, SourceForge, GameFAQs and ScrewAttack. Mike: I've never been big on stealth games.

The AVGN reviews Rambo (NES), Rambo: First Blood Part II (SMS), and Rambo III (SMS) The Nerd uses the last few minutes of the review to address the title of the latest Rambo movie, adding to points made in his Chronologically Confused about Movie Titles video.

Matei is the editor for James & Mike Mondays. Hell yeah man,I love these, and I also like that game Magic Sword,I got that one on Snes still. And one thing we love about the Cinemassacre site is that alongside the AVGN reviews, James Rolfe and Mike Matei also have done numerous videos discussing movies and B-movies in particular, most notably in their annual Monster Madness review series.

The same way kids of the 80's grew up with the NES, we also all grew up around board games. When I played that game, it was the first time since probably A Link to the Past where I felt like I was playing a proper Zelda title. The Nerd couldn't get over the fact that there's a typo in an NES game.

Matei most notably works on Rolfe's famous Internet series The Angry Video Game Nerd , for which he co-writes, plays Mike Matei a variety of characters ( Jason Voorhees , The Cowardly Lion , The Joker , Leatherface , Bugs Bunny , a Klingon , Michael Myers , etc.), and illustrated the title cards for episodes 5-100 as well as 139.

If you love AVGN then this movie is definitely for you. Maybe one day I'll pop up in a Nerd episode, but for the time being there's no plans for such a thing. Rolfe made a short video to thank all the people who subscribed, watched the videos on the channel and for supporting himself, Mike Matei, and everyone who made Cinemassacre more popular.

Neither Rolfe nor Matei have responded to fans' concerns on their Twitter accounts or the official AVGN Facebook page, but Matei has been made aware of the situation. As always with AVGN and James Rolfe the artwork is awesome and well thought out. With the growing fandom, Mike's contributions slowly evolved into shaping the idea that was the Angry Video Game Nerd.

Despite this, in August 2012 Mike found out about this guy and decided to proclaim that those French reviews are basically ripping off James' act. And Matei has earned a huge fanbase of his own doing reviews of obscure games. With the hype of future Zelda games, sometimes it's easy to forget where the series began.
